CALGARY, March 16, 2016 /CNW/ – Genesis Land Development Corp. (TSX: GDC) (“Genesis”) announced today that the board of directors has appointed Kirsten Richter as interim Chief Financial Officer effective April 18, 2016. Reporting to Stephen J. Griggs, Chair of the Board and interim CEO, Ms. Richter will be a member of the company’s executive leadership team with responsibility for the financial management, analysis and reporting of the company.
Ms. Richter brings to Genesis extensive financial leadership and business experience from roles across diverse industries. Ms. Richter is currently interim Chief Financial Officer of Chatters (www.chatters.ca). Since 2002, Ms. Richter has completed numerous executive leadership and special project assignments for a broad range of corporate clients, including major private equity investors. These engagements have focussed on strategy, mergers & acquisitions, financial reporting and compliance, risk management, and business and process improvement. She spent the first sixteen years of her career working in the ‘big four’ accounting firm environment in roles in audit, tax, and corporate finance.
Ms. Richter is a CPA, CA and an American CPA (Illinois).
In addition, Rauf Muhammad has been appointed as the interim Chief Financial Officer of Genesis until April 18, 2016. Mr. Muhammad is the Corporate Controller of Genesis and has been with the company since December 2010. Mr. Muhammad is an American CPA (Colorado) and CA (Pakistan).
