TORONTO, May 26, 2016 /CNW/ – First Capital Realty Inc. (TSX: FCR), one of Canada’s largest owners, developers and managers of grocery anchored, retail-focused urban properties, announced today that it has closed its previously announced bought deal public offering of 5,451,000 common shares at a price of $21.10 per share to a syndicate of underwriters co-led by TD Securities Inc. and RBC Capital Markets for gross proceeds of approximately $115 million (the “Offering”). The closing included 711,000 shares issued as a result of the exercise in full of the underwriters’ over-allotment option.
The Company will use the net proceeds from the Offering to (i) fund the purchase of certain recently completed acquisitions, (ii) satisfy the Company’s share of the purchase of certain anticipated near-term acquisitions, and (iii) continue to fund the Company’s upcoming development expenditures and for general corporate purposes. These acquisitions are described in more detail in the Company’s prospectus supplement dated May 18, 2016 which is available on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.
Upon closing of the Offering today, there were 234,723,663 common shares of the Company issued and outstanding.
